Section 01
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Bharat Council of Skill Development (“BCSD”, “we”, “us”) for use of the BCSD website, PWA, courses, tests, certificates, instructor tools, and related services (the “Platform”).
By creating an account, signing in, purchasing a course, teaching on BCSD, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Section 02
Who may use BCSD
- You must be able to form a binding contract under Indian law
- If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must consent to your use and is responsible for the account
- Instructor accounts, KYC, and bank payouts are available only to individuals aged 18 or older
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date
- One person should not maintain multiple accounts to abuse coupons, reviews, or tests
Section 03
Accounts and security
You can register with email and password, email OTP, or Google/Facebook. You may add a mobile number for updates and OTP alerts. You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your password and OTPs confidential. Tell us promptly at support@bcsd.co.in if you think someone else used your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that appear fraudulent, abusive, or in breach of these Terms, including sharing login details to give unpaid access to paid courses.
Section 04
The BCSD platform
BCSD provides skill, board-prep, teacher-training, AI, and other career-oriented courses, including video lessons, notes, practice tests, certification tests, Q&A, reviews, and downloadable certificates where a course offers them. Features, catalogue, prices, and languages may change as we improve the Platform.
You may install the BCSD PWA on a compatible device. The app is a companion to the website, not a separate product with different legal terms, unless we say otherwise.
BCSD Business (business.bcsd.co.in) is aimed at organisations. Use of that site may require a separate agreement.
Section 05
Course access licence
When you purchase or are granted a course, BCSD gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to stream and use that course for your own learning, for as long as we continue to offer it on the Platform (or for any shorter period stated on the course page).
You may not:
- Download, rip, record, or redistribute videos, tests, PDFs, or certificates except through controls we provide
- Share your login, screen, or files to give others unpaid access
- Use course materials to train competing models or to build a competing course catalogue without permission
- Remove watermarks, DRM, or other content-protection measures
- Resell, sublicense, or publicly perform the content except as allowed in writing by BCSD
Course availability can change if an instructor leaves, a licence ends, or we must take content down for legal or quality reasons. If a paid course is permanently withdrawn and you have unused access, contact support and we will consider a fair remedy.
Section 06
Prices, GST, and checkout
Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹). Applicable GST is calculated at checkout based on the rate configured for each course and is itemised on your order. Promotional prices, coupons, and limited-time offers (for example board-prep plans or NTT offer pricing) are available only while they are displayed and may have conditions.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. By paying, you also accept Razorpay’s terms. A purchase is complete only when Razorpay confirms success and BCSD records the order. Failed, cancelled, or abandoned checkouts do not grant course access. You can review orders in Purchase history.
You are responsible for providing a correct billing address so we can issue a valid tax invoice. BCSD may refuse or cancel an order if payment is suspected to be unauthorised or if pricing is obviously erroneous.
Section 07
Refunds and cancellations
Courses are digital goods. Access usually starts as soon as payment succeeds. Please check the course page, curriculum, and preview lessons before you buy.
We will refund or reverse a payment where Indian law requires it, where a charge is duplicated, where payment was captured but access could not be granted, or where we cancel a course offering. Other refund requests (for example, change of mind after substantial viewing or after a certification test is attempted) are considered case by case. Email support@bcsd.co.in with your order ID from Purchase history.
Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method via Razorpay and may take several bank working days. GST treatment follows applicable tax rules. If a refund is issued, we may revoke course access and related certificates for that purchase.
Section 08
Certificates and tests
Certificates are issued only when a course’s completion rules are met (for example, lessons watched and/or a certification test passed). A BCSD certificate is a record of learning on this Platform. Unless a specific programme says otherwise in writing, it is not a UGC/AICTE university degree, government recruitment qualification, or licence to practise a regulated profession.
Practice and certification tests must be taken by you. You must not copy questions, use unauthorised help, share answers, or manipulate timers. We may invalidate attempts or certificates if we reasonably believe the result was obtained unfairly. Test drafts stored on your device are for your convenience and do not guarantee a submitted attempt.
Section 09
Reviews, Q&A, and notes
You keep ownership of reviews, questions, answers, lesson notes, and other content you post (“User Content”). You grant BCSD a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, moderate, and use that User Content to operate and promote the Platform (for example, showing a review on a course page).
User Content must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. Do not post hate, harassment, spam, personal data of others, or copyrighted material you do not have the right to share. We may hide or remove content that breaches these Terms.
Section 10
Instructors and teaching
If you teach on BCSD you must complete onboarding, submit a teaching-sample video, and finish KYC (address, bank, PAN/Aadhaar and other requested documents) before payouts are unlocked. You confirm that information and documents are true and that you have the right to teach the subject and to licence the course materials to BCSD.
You grant BCSD a licence to host, transcode, protect, market, and sell your courses on the website and PWA, including using titles, thumbnails, and short clips for catalogue and promotion. Commission, GST handling, and payout timing are as shown in your instructor dashboard and any payout schedule we publish. Payouts go only to the verified bank account on file.
BCSD may reject, unpublish, or remove courses that are misleading, infringing, low quality, or unsafe. Cloning a course creates a new unpublished draft; you remain responsible for the content you publish. You must not upload malware or material that violates law or third-party rights.
Section 11
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, including cheating on tests or misrepresenting a certificate
- Attempt to hack, scrape at scale, overload, or reverse engineer the Platform except as allowed by law
- Bypass payment, DRM, or access controls
- Harass learners, instructors, or staff, or post unlawful or harmful content
- Use BCSD to send spam or to collect personal data of others
- Impersonate BCSD, an instructor, or another user
Section 12
Intellectual property
The BCSD name, logo, website, PWA, software, and original platform content are owned by BCSD or its licensors. Instructor course content remains the instructor’s (or their licensors’), subject to the licence granted to BCSD. You may not use our marks without permission.
If you believe content on BCSD infringes your copyright, write to support@bcsd.co.in with the URL, a description of the work, and a statement of your rights. We may remove or disable access to disputed material while we review the claim.
Section 13
Communications
We send transactional messages that are part of the service (OTPs, purchase receipts, security alerts, KYC status). You can choose marketing offers at sign-up and later. In-app, push, and sound notifications can be managed under Notification settings. Push notifications on the PWA require a device permission.
Section 14
Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to keep video, tests, and checkout reliable, but we do not warrant uninterrupted access, that a course will guarantee a job, exam rank, or admission, or that every instructor statement is error-free. Learning outcomes depend on your effort and on third-party exam or hiring rules outside our control.
Section 15
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, BCSD is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for a claim relating to a paid course is limited to the amount you paid for that course in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is not allowed.
Section 16
Suspension and closure
You may stop using BCSD at any time. You may request account closure by contacting support. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these Terms, legal risk, long inactivity, or if we discontinue the Platform. Provisions that should survive (including licences already granted, payment obligations, IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) remain in effect.
Section 17
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your place of residence in India.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms continue. We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves; the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
